Zachary Copfer, a microbiologist as well as a visual artist, has recently come up with a new and innovative scientific technique to literally ‘grow‘ an image in a Petri dish using bacteria. Dubbed ‘Bacteriography‘, this new method also includes a way to preserve these petri dishes of bacterial colonies to make them safe for display in a non-laboratory environment, giving birth to an exciting and a living form of art.
