It is customary for captains and lieutenants to lead from the front and are often engaged in spearhead strikes aimed at decapitating opposition leadership. To ensure that only the best of the Chapter serve in the Bladeguard, positions within the squad are decided by combat between candidates. Astartes of any rank, from b ttle-brother to sergeant can form part of the Bladeguard. Members of the squad go into battle clad in ornamented armor, adorned with seals of purity, battles and opponents defeated ingle combat. Most Bladeguard veterans from this Chapter sport the highly modified Mark VIII errant helms. ORNIRIS.COM
