It was important to nail the look of an object that the player interfaces with constantly. The original take was a militaristic design influenced by army field radios. Although this would have worked well from a practical standpoint, it lacked retro flair. We try to imbue our industrial designs with personality, rounded corners, and softer forms akin to those of 1950s appliances. The final design was an attempt to strike a balance between realistic functionality and friendliness. And we finally put the knobs on the correct side. PREPRODUCTION 019
Whereas the landscape and weather of the (ommonwoollh were a departure from the visuals of Folloul 3, the Glowing Sea was an opportunity to bring back the classic poslapocalyptic, super-irradioled scorchcdearth look. THE ART of Fatut4
